Donna Albany

Donna Albany is a Kalkadoon woman living on Bundjalung Country. An artist and art educator, she has a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts specializing in ceramics and painting. She has studied Visual communications and worked in Interior Design all enriching her artmaking practice.
Residing in the coastal town of Lennox Head, Donna Albany’s artworks traverse between her rugged ocean surroundings and the vast desert terrain of her ancestral home. Her landscapes depict the physical forms of the natural world but also exist as a place of spiritual contemplation and connection. Donna’s ceramic platters and coolamons reflect the textures, colours, and stories of these landscapes, capturing their essence, evoking in the viewer their own memories and connections to the land and sea. A visual homage to Place, reflecting on the timeless wisdom of the land, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in its beauty and vastness.
